Got Our August Rain!

Things are looking good around the farm.  Yesterday we received our “million dollar” August rain.  Rainfall totals for the day were 1-3″ depending on the farm.  We lucked out and missed the winds and heavy rains that some had during yesterday’s storms.  All the corn has now been sprayed by airplane with a fungicide.  Disease pressures in the form of gray leaf spot, southern rust, and common rust were really starting to ramp up.

Work in the shop has been centered on preparations for harvest.  Due to the reduced availability and longer wait times for parts, we are pushing to get the machinery ready sooner than normal.  The economic conditions and the lasting effects of the covid shutdowns are still challenging and changing the way we do business.

The farm appreciation dinner  is scheduled for the 28th of August.  We have had a tremendous response of RSVPs.  It will be great to see you all here at the farm together and be face to face!  Hope you all are looking forward to it as much as we are!
