Since our last update in the middle of May a lot has been accomplished. We have only 130 acres of beans left to plant when it dries out. We had the planter stuck there before the last two inches of rain. All the post spraying on the corn is complete and half of the side-dressing is done. The soil nitrate samples we pulled came back showing that have not lost much of our spring applied N before this last week of rain. Everything we have side-dressed so far has required no more than 30 additional pounds of N above our original crop plan. This will most likely change as we pull additional nitrate samples this week after more than 2 inches of rain.
On the T/P/H farm the work on lowering the oil pipeline began a couple days before we were there to plant the beans. We were able to get some great pictures and videos from the air of the process of them re-welding and lowering the pipeline.
